The Stomp Crew are full time music enthusiasts, part time promoters based in Dublin, Ireland. Consisting of a conglomeration of friends and enemies who have a shared love of a fat beat and a good rave, StompMag was created to shine some more light on the thriving Irish Electronic scene. While adopting a worldview of music there will always be a prime place on this website for Irish acts, promoters, producers and DJ’s who are doing things, in our view, the right way.

Things We Don’t Do :

Pointless Reviews : In all honesty, if we like something we tend to review it…if only to give ourselves the opportunity to put into words what we are feeling about the music. As such, you can use the content of our reviews section as a kind of filter…if you dislike what we talk about then we are never gonna get along and have musical differences that can never be hugged out. This is simply not the music website for you.

Numerical Values on Artistic Effort : Giving something 7 out of 10 seems like a lazy way to review something. Where is the structure? Why did it lose 3 points, why did it get 7 while something else got 9? Is a full mark of 10 out of 10 reserved only for things that will be timeless classics and the absolute heights of human achievement in the sonic field or did we just really like that release today but will forget about it tomorrow? The simple fact is you cannot apply a structure to quantifying the subjective…it’s flawed…and we’d rather have no structure than a flawed one. If we review something it means we’ve paid cash for it or plan to. There can be no higher praise than getting a Stomp Crew member to fork over hard or easy earned money for something other than food.
